Anthrax practical joke by Wal-Mart manager results in confidential settlement

Attorney Brian W. Smith of the law firm of Smith & Vanture, LLP obtained a confidential settlement for a client who was the subject of a practical joke involving exposure to Anthrax. A manager at the Wal Mart store where she worked told her that she had been exposed to Anthrax and needed to be tested. That turned out to be a practical joke, but client suffered from anxiety and depression as a result. This incident occurred just after the nationwide Anthrax scare in 2001.
