Can I afford to hire a personal injury attorney?
Personal injury usually does not require any fees up front. Instead, they charge on a contingency fee basis, which means that if you win your case, the lawyer will be entitled to a percentage of your award. If you do not win your case, you pay nothing. Many lawyers pay for case-related expenses (hiring medical experts to testify and obtaining medical records) up front and are reimbursed out of the recovery, assuming the case is won. In the event the case is not won, either the client is asked to repay these costs, or the law firm simply absorbs them. The financial arrangements of your case should be discussed with your attorney ahead of time so that you understand the fees for which you may be responsible. To find out if you have an eligible personal injury claim, contact our lawyers in Stratford, Connecticut today.
